I have been roofing now for over thirty years, I trained at the CITB College in London and I now own my small family business.

Rubber Roofing

Using this system your rubber roof has NO JOINS. One sheet of rubber covers your roof and is simply bonded in place using water based deck adhesive, trimmed to size and finished off with the correct drip, kerb edge and wall up-stand trims. Like all of our EPDM roofing membranes your roof will have a life expectancy of 50 years. The whole installation process is achieved with cold adhesives, sizes go up to 9mx30m anything larger than that requires a join.

Felt Roofs

Felt flat roofing is predominately a 3 layer built up flat roofing system. This used to involve, and still does in certain cases, a pot which is used to heat the bitumen. This then gets mopped or poured to stick the felt to the deck, but more and more people are now using 'torch on' felt, which removes the pot entirely. The heat is applied through a gas gun directly to the back of the roll. In recent years, more systems have been introduced to flat roofing. Now we're seeing single ply membranes, fibreglass systems, rubber roofing systems, all of which have different life expectancies and different manufacture's guarantees.

Fascia and Soffit

People often underestimate the importance of properly fitted and maintained fascia & guttering. Getting these simple things right can save you time and money. The purpose of guttering is to effectively direct water from the roof towards a downpipe. This then carries the water down to floor level and into a drainage system. This helps prevents walls becoming saturated with water, potentially causing damp.


Many properties now have PVC (polyvinyl chloride, basically plastic) fascia soffits and guttering; which is light weight and extremely easy to maintain. You can get them in variety of designs and colours to complement the rest of your house. The guttering also varies on design and colour depending on what you need. You can choose from square line, half round and some more fancy ones if you have a bigger budget. This could include guttering finished in copper or aluminium, which does have a bit of a wow factor, but in comparision to PVC, also has a wow price tag.
